At Horne Consulting, we charge reasonable fees for our services. Our fees vary depending on the complexity of the assignment and the amount of time available to complete it. The majority of individual grant writing and planning services range from $1,500 - $4,500 with the average fee being about $3,000. Our fees are based on the complexity and requirements of the grant, program, or planning project RFP and the amount of time we have to complete the assignment. Nonprofit Business Services:

We offer numerous planning, management, and funding services for nonprofit organizations. For flat fee assignments with a fee less than $1,500, a one-third deposit is required at the start of the work and the remainder is due at the release of the final work product. For flat fee assignments with a fee greater than $1,500, payment is generally due in three or more installments. In any scenario, a payment schedule can be arranged that is suitable to all parties involved. These services include:

• Grant Writing: We will prepare grant applications for federal, state, and local government, as well as, private and corporate foundations. Fees for most federal, state, and local grant applications range from $1,500 - $6,000, depending on the complexity of the proposal and the length of time we have to complete the assignment. We have access to information on over 400,000 grants.

• Foundation and Corporate Funding Requests: We will complete a comprehensive search of our database of over 80,000 foundation and corporate funding sources for a project concept, draft a foundation concept letter, and submit the concept letter to the five best sources identified in the search for a fee of $2,500, or the ten best sources for $3,500.

• Strategic and Resource Management Plan Development: We will prepare a strategic plan to clarify the role of your organization. The strategic plan will focus on establishing your organizational direction, developing a vision and mission, setting priorities, and identifying obstacles and opportunities that may limit or enable you to carry out your mission. We will provide you with a written, diversified resource management plan that identifies your long-term financial needs and future funding opportunities. These plans are essential elements for receiving government and foundation funding and creating a sustainable organization. Plan fees range from $1,500 - $4,500.

• Grant Source Research: Customized grant research is available for any project concept. This may include searches of our databases of all federal grant programs and foundation and corporate giving sources. The fee usually ranges from $500 - $2,400, based on the project concept and scope of the search.

• Nonprofit Incorporations: We will complete all paperwork necessary to establish a new nonprofit corporation in your state for a fee of $1,950. This includes articles of incorporation, by-laws, an application for state tax exemption, and an application to the IRS for a 501(c) (3) letter of determination. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for filing fees, which are approximately $850.

• Turn Key Program Development, Funding Research, and Grant Writing: For those nonprofits that need the full range of services, we will complete turn-key projects including community needs assessments, develop appropriate program(s), conduct grant research, identify grant opportunities, prepare proposals, and provide ongoing administration assistance. We will keep track of hours worked with hours billed at a 10% discount from our standard hourly rate. The standard hourly rate is $70 per hour.

For-profit Business Services:
We will develop business plans, pro formas, and presentation packages for businesses for a fee ranging from $1,500 - $6,000, depending on the complexity of the assignment. This may include investor/lender packages as well as public relations materials.

Editing and Technical Assistance:
Complete editing of prepared proposals and other technical assistance is available to for-profit and nonprofit clients on an hourly basis at $70.00 per hour.

Expenses:
Expenses are billed at cost, plus 10%, and include such items as overnight delivery service and reproduction of submission documents. While Horne Consulting utilizes e-communications as the primary source of information exchange, if a client prefers on-site meetings, travel expenses will also be billed at cost.
